Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh): Defying the law, a village panchayat here dealt in its own way with a molester -- it ordered him to organise a feast for the villagers as his punishment, police said.

But the accused was later arrested as the disappointed victim approached the police to seek justice.

NAWADA: Scores of examinees went on rampage on the first day of the Intermidiate examination on Tuesday as a drunk education official arrived with question papers an hour after the exams began.

Nawada district education officer Sayeed Akhtar has removed the officer from duty and slapped him with a show cause notice.

Sources said intermediate examinees of economics, biology and commerce subjects at Nagar Madhya Vidyalaya, located in Nawada, resorted to stone-throwing as the question papers were delivered to them at 11 am, instead of scheduled 10 am. New Delhi: Delhi Police claimed to have busted a gang of burglars, who wanted to start a garment shop using the stolen goods, with the arrest of three youths allegedly involved in at least nine cases.

The receiver of the stolen goods has also been apprehended with police recovering 9.5 kg of silver, 1.2 kg of gold, three LCDs, three laptops and ten gas cylinders besides a large number of sarees they stole from a garment shop. Shimla - A badminton champion, studying in class 12 of a government school in Sirmau district of Himachal Pradesh, was asked to clean utensils at the school's annual function presided over by state Health Minister Rajeev Bindal.

Aarzoo Thakur, a student of Government Senior Secondary School at Dadahu in Sirmaur and gold medallist at the National Women Festival - 2010 held in Agra, attended the function Tuesday, where she and a couple of other students were later asked to wash utensils, her family said.
