PATNA: The hopes of Lord Hanuman coming out of a police lock-up, so to speak, in Bihar have been revived with a former police officer offering to be the “bailer” of the deity in police custody.

The deity has been in police custody for the past 15 years since no one turned up to bail him out because of the huge amount fixed by a court as security money for his release. The bailers would need to furnish a bail bond of Rs 42 lakh to get him out. Lord Hanuman has been languishing at Krishnagarh police station in Bhojpur district after being caught in a legal wrangle for the past two decades. Giving him company is another Hindu deity, Lord Varuna, who is known as the god of water, as well as the god of law and of the underworld. Read More................Finally, hope for ‘jailed’ Hanuman
