CHANDIGARH: Call it a craze or trust in power of numerology. Mahant Chhotu Nath, a priest of Shri Guru Gorakshnath Sidh Hanuman Mandir in Sector 19 here, won the bid for CH01-AR-0001 registration number for his Rs 60 lakh worth Audi Q7 by paying Rs 10.5 lakh at an auction on Monday. MANGALORE: Demand for 'Gomutra Arka', a medicine distilled out of cow urine, is on the rise in the city. An arka manufacturer on the outskirts of the city, who supplies around 10 litres a day, claims that even the educated are using the ayurvedic preparation regularly to prevent diseases.

Govanithashraya Trust manufactures gomutra arka at its goshala (cow shelter) in Beejaguri at Pajeer, 26 km from the city. Shahdol: A 26-year-old man from Patera Tola village in Shahdol in Madhya Pradesh married for the eighth time, deserting all his earlier wives. Umendra Prasad Mahra tied the knot recently on February 7.

His sixth wife Devki Bhai Mahra had complained about him before Vandana Mandavi, a member of the Madhya Pradesh Women's Commission. A man in India who falsely named himself as dead terrorist ‘Osama bin Laden’ answered an advert for a teaching post at an Indian primary school last year, citing Bill Clinton as his father.

It did not take long for teachers to unravel his masquerade. He was one of hundreds of bizarre false names given by chancers apparently hoping to secure jobs in schools in Uttar Pradesh, in northern India, the Daily Mail reported. BHOPAL: Here's a government servant who's stood the phrase lowly clerk on its head. Arjun Das Lalwani, a Grade-II clerk in the Madhya Pradesh state power utility, with a monthly salary of Rs 40,000, has been valued at Rs 25 crore in ill-gotten wealth. Dodging multiple security cordons on the way to Bihar Legislative building, RJD MLA from Jagdishpur Dinesh Kumar Singh on Monday slipped into the Assembly with four liquor bottles.

Demanding ban on liquor sale in the state, he demonstrated with the bottles at the portico of the House. Despite two rounds of checks, securitymen failed to spot them lying under the seats of his sports utility vehicle.
